Story

Garoute Jean’s story is the kind that begins quietly—but carries the weight of courage, sacrifice, and faith.

He came from Haiti with nothing but a dream, a work ethic shaped by hardship, and a deep love for food that brings people together. Like many immigrants, his journey to the United States was not easy. There were long days, uncertain nights, and moments when giving up might have felt like the easier choice. But Garoute carried something stronger than doubt: purpose.

Food was never just food to him. It was memory. It was culture. It was family gathered around one table, sharing stories, laughter, and warmth. That belief became the foundation of Sak Pase—a place built not just to serve meals, but to make people feel at home.

Starting small, Garoute poured his heart into every dish. One plate at a time, one customer at a time, Sak Pase grew into more than a restaurant—it became a community staple. Today, Garoute Jean is the proud owner of two of the best Haitian restaurants in South Florida, along with a food truck serving Florida City, staying connected to the people who supported him from the very beginning.

But beyond the titles—chef, entrepreneur, owner—Garoute is first and foremost a father. Everything he builds is rooted in family values: respect, hard work, and giving back. His kitchens are places of mentorship. His restaurants are places of welcome. His success is shared with the community that helped shape it.

From arriving with nothing to creating something meaningful, Garoute Jean’s journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and dedication.
Sak Pase isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a story of perseverance, proudly served on every plate.

Where every bite hits the spot.

Bringing the authentic taste of the Caribbean to every plate since 2010.
